Description | This trap constructed of maractite appears at first a typical jagged-toothed animal trap. Is it a trick of the light... or is that a faint green fog that looks like snapping teeth? | ![]() Once per Battle Average Rating [?]

Ratings - Maractite Dimensional Trap
Rating: | Recommended for: Intermediate and Advanced Battlers Price at Time of Rating: 1-2m, in flux and will update once settled This weapon was given out as a weekly Quest Log prize starting in May 2024. It's also one of my favorite weapons for how fun it is! Strengths: If you consider this mainly as a bomb, then MDT is really powerful for dishing out 20 icons, across 4 types, at its current prices. The 50% chance of freezing can be a nice bonus, if you don't have a separate 100% freezer yet. Weaknesses: If you do have a separate 100% freezer though, then MDT becomes a bit of an awkward hindrance since you can't equip it alongside another freezer. And at this budget range, there's a decent chance that you'd want to also get a Sleep Ray or its alternatives. Alternatives: One fun alternative is Shuriken, which has a 50% chance of either attacking with 14 icons or freezing, and only breaks for the battle when it freezes. However, it has the same weakness of preventing you from equipping a 100% freezer. When it comes to bombs, then its closest peer is Jhudoras Potion, which averages a similar 20.85 icons, can currently be found for a similar price, and allows you to equip a separate 100% freezer. Upgrades would be Varia is the Bomb and Ghostkerbomb for when you want more attack power. Notes: This weapon's price may fluctuate a lot in the coming weeks, and may go up again if it is ever removed from the Quest Log prize pool. Rated on May 14, 2024 |
Rating: Rating History ▼ | Price/Power (3/5) Right now these are selling for a similar amount to a Ghostkerbomb- which if you ask me is a reasonable figure. Okay with this being now a once per battle- and the prices raising dramatically this weapon is not nearly as good as I remember it. Countermeasures (2/5) Half of the time this bomb freezes, but the other half of the time it doesn't. Thankfully unlike the recently downgraded Shuriken it does do damage even when it freezes. This alone makes it worth using as a bomb unless you are already at a hidden tower level. Problem is these days it is just once per battle, making it a lot less practical in combat and more like a decent bomb that blocks your own freezing slot. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades If you need a freezer a it is likely best to just go for a 100% freezer such as a Freezing Potion. If you want a cheap 50% freezer the Randomly Firing Freeze Ray still exists. Other Points Final Thoughts The price has started to make this less impressive- so, yeah.. Rated on February 26, 2017.
